The MemberVault Blog feature is here! This post is a quick overview of what it's all about and some fancy stuff I did with it.

The written version

MemberVault blog posts live under Content > Posts. 

Individual posts

You can create a blog post with a title, link, featured image and published date. Setting a date in the future will hide the post until that date. Great for scheduling posts in advance. 

The editor (where you enter your blog text) is the same as with lessons etc, so similar formatting options are available. 

There are sections for SEO, custom CSS and Javascript, should you need it. 

Sidebar

There's a sidebar with a Search feature default. This works really, really well.

You can add a call to action under it which I'll cover in the blog settings section. 

Blog feed (blog page) 

When you have at least one active post, your blog page (think of it like a blog feed) will be visible on your MemberVault site, under the menu. 

Blog settings 

Under Settings, you'll find Blog. This is where you control certain elements of your blog feed. 

You can change the title of your blog page, customise the link and set how many posts can appear at once. 

There's a CTA section for the sidebar. This is very useful place for things like "About the author".

Taking it to next level 

There are still lots of features to come for MemberVault blogs. Like categories and controlling the layout of the blog feed. But until then, there are a few things you can do make it even more exciting. Like adding a way to gain subscribers. I've got a subscription form in my sidebar but a  link to a landing page works too. 

Update to the form I've mentioned above: I embedded an MV product checkout at first. It was quite nifty. But I've since changed it to a button that goes to the promo area of the newsletter product.
